2nd International Scientific Conference “Reconstruction of Production in Greece: Economic Crisis and Growth Perspectives”

gas-pipelines1The Department of Economics of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTh), the Department of Economics of the University of Macedonia (UoM) and the Institute for Social Research Dimitris Mpatsis, in collaboration with the School of Administration & Economics (Post Graduate Programmes) of the Technological Education Institute (T.E.I.) of Central Macedonia and the support of the Political Economy Research Group (PERG) and the Economic Society  of Thessaloniki, organize the Second International Scientific Conference, on the:

“Reconstruction of Production in Greece: Economic Crisis and Growth Perspectives”

that will be hosted in Serres (Greece), Friday the 5th and Saturday the 6th of May, 2017, at the Technological and Education Institute of Central Macedonia, Main Conference Hall “Evagoras  Pallikaridis”.

At the heart of our Conference’s interests are studies on the causes of the current international economic crisis and its occurrence in Greece, ever since 2008, as well as scientific papers that propose alternative plans of economic policy for reconstructing the production fundamentals of the country itself.

Specifically, we welcome papers focusing upon (but not limited to) the following indicative subjects:

  • Causes of the current economic crisis (2008) and relevant policies.
  • Greek Debt Memorandums: objectives and relevant results.
  • Economic, political, legal and ideological implications of the “European Integration” and “Globalization” in Greece and the Balkans.
  • Inter-Balkan economic cooperation (Trade, Investments, Tourism, Business, etc.).
  • Sectoral and structural transformations of the Greek economy (Agri-Food, Sustainable Growth, Transportation, Knowledge-based economy, Information and Communication Technologies, Regional Growth Patterns).
  • Unemployment: causes, socio-economic implications and, relevant policies.
  • Financial and banking system and production reconstruction.
  • Development plans, institutional frameworks and financial schemes for economic growth and development in the Greek economy and Greek businesses, within the Eurozone and the Balkans.
  • Perspectives for restructuring the Eurozone and the European Union.

Submission and Selection of Extended Abstracts

Scholars have to submit their extended abstract (up to 1.000 words) until February the 20th 2017 in reconstruct.greece@gmail.com.

Submitted extended abstracts should include the title of the paper, the name(s) authors, the author(s) affiliation, the author(s) e-mail address and should contain the paper subject, the methodology applied, the results found, the conclusions derived and the main keywords.

The Conference Scientific Committee will decide upon accepting the submitted abstracts and will notify the authors by March the 1st, 2017.

Full Papers Submission and Publication

Full papers have to be submitted by March the 10th, 2017 by e-mail to reconstruct.greece@gmail.com. Following the necessary review, presented and selected papers will be published in the Conference Proceedings.
